Being rich trumps being wealthy

I don’t want to be rich.

I want to be rich.

First of all, anyone who has a decent job and works hard can earn money and become rich.

Wealth requires you to come a long way, get out of the rat race, take some calculated risks, and years of toil.

Being rich, you work to make money.

Being wealthy, your assets work for you.

Most of the professionals like doctors, chartered accountants, engineers, lawyers, etc. are rich. However, the day they stop working, their profits are capped or they cease to exist.

You need to own a piece of business to build wealth for yourself. This could be via ownership in a company, investments in stocks, stressed stocks, ESOPs, etc.

Even if you want to stop working and become rich, your net worth usually continues to increase because the value of the companies you own increases.

Wealth is hidden assets such as your bank balance, stock investments, real estate, etc.

The rich is visible. Expensive cars, watches, clothes, accessories, jewelry, etc.

Don’t aspire to be rich because you look great.

Aim to become rich even if it doesn’t seem great. Once you get rich, no one cares if you look great or not.
