‘I don’t earn from TikTok; I make money from wearing wigs and female clothes’ – Akonoba

Content creator Kelvin Sambani Addo, popularly known as Akonoba, has revealed how he makes an income from cross-dressing on social media.

In an interview with Delores Frimpong Manso On the Delay Show on December 15, 2024, Akonoba explained that his income comes from wearing wigs, women’s clothing and collaborating with various brands for advertising purposes.

“The characters I play on social media don’t make any money, especially the old woman. I act in these skirts to entertain the viewers, especially the elderly people abroad who may be suffering from depression. TikTok doesn’t pay me. But when I wear wigs and clothes for some company, I get paid for it.”

Akonoba also shared how his decision to become a female content creator initially faced resistance from his parents.

“When I started, my parents didn’t approve of it. As the eldest son, we had a little misunderstanding, but we eventually got over it. I moved out of my parents’ house to solve the problem. Over time, as I became more popular and people started reaching out to him, he started to understand that every That was part of my job.

He added: “People called him to talk to him, and he gave in. When they saw that there was no negativity surrounding what I was doing, they finally gave me their full support.”
